Our Expanded Relationship with Netflix
Over the past 24 hours, there has been much speculation over our relationship with Netflix. This is not surprising, considering that a recent study found that Netflix makes up more than 20% of downstream Internet traffic during peak times in the U.S. We wanted to reiterate the statements we made on our earnings conference call last Friday, to set the record straight:
As our CEO Jeff Lunsford announced, Limelight Networks has extended our contract with Netflix as one of their primary digital content delivery providers, adding three years to take us through the end of 2013. Our role will expand beginning in 2011. We will be supporting Neflix’s streaming service and our Cloud Storage service will store the entire Netflix content library of more than 20,000 titles. We are excited about continuing to support the growth of this innovative industry leader.
