More on Understanding CDN Performance

Lydia Leong of Gartner has posted a four-part analysis of the Microsoft Research/Polytechnic Institute CDN measurement study. It’s an incredibly thorough series of posts, and we are glad that someone with Lydia’s technical background take the time to do this type of analysis on the paper. Her bottom line is that “if you want to really test a CDN’s performance, and see what it will do for your content and your users, you’ve got to run a trial.”

As we wrote in an open letter to Dan Rayburn, we agree 100%. There is no research study better than your own actual experience.
